Raise Your Support

All FOCUS missionaries raise 100% of their mission budget. To do this, we provide new staff with exceptional training, coaching and practice in how to raise a mission support team for an individual missionary or a family. We also provide tools and guidance on how to create personal budgets to determine what level of support-raising is necessary.

This model of support-raising allows FOCUS to use resources to grow much faster each year, ultimately helping more college students encounter Christ. It also allows us to build vital partnerships of prayer, evangelization and outreach to those who join us in mission through financial giving.

Go On An Adventure

Our missionaries make a commitment to serve at any campus where FOCUS has a program. A staff member’s campus placement is based on a variety of factors, including strengths, interests, abilities and background. Through prayerful discernment, FOCUS strives to build teams of missionaries that are well rounded and can meet the needs of any given campus ministry program.

World-Class Formation

FOCUS provides one of the most effective leadership, training and formation programs available to the laity in the United States. Those who complete this formation will build the remainder of their life on a foundation rooted in the best of human, spiritual, intellectual and apostolic formation. In addition to our standard staff formation, FOCUS partners with several academic institutions to offer further education in business, theology, counseling, philanthropy and other disciplines to support veteran missionary formation.

Discern Your Vocation

FOCUS asks all first-year missionaries to make a commitment to refrain from starting new romantic relationships for 12 months. This commitment is counter-cultural, and yet it brings many blessings, including the following:

Furthering the mission on campus by allowing radical availability
A rich opportunity for spiritual growth and the development of a complete dependence on God
A time of discernment of vocation
An opportunity to look upon our brothers and sisters in Christ in a non-romantic way, so that we can love with freedom of heart
